Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Atlas Inc. ("Atlas," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Atlas AI travel companion on chatwithatlas.com and through our iOS and Android apps. By using Atlas, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
Atlas is operated by Atlas Inc., based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. For any privacy question or to exercise your data rights, contact us at tripportalbd@gmail.com. We act as the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
- Account information: Your name, email address, and profile photo, provided through Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple.
- Chat history: Your conversations with Atlas, including travel queries, destinations, preferences, and saved trips and itineraries.
- Usage and analytics data: How you interact with the Service, including pages viewed, features used, session timestamps, and referring links.
- Device and technical data: IP address, browser or app version, device type, operating system, and general (approximate) location inferred from your IP. On mobile, this may include device identifiers used for analytics and, if enabled, push notifications.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide personalized travel suggestions and remember your preferences and saved trips.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the quality of Atlas's AI responses and features.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To understand usage through analytics so we can improve the Service.
- To communicate important updates, and — if you opt in — send push notifications.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
4. Third-Party Services We Share Data With
To answer your travel questions, Atlas transmits relevant parts of your request to specialized providers and uses their responses. We share only what is needed to fulfill your request. These include:
- AI language models (via OpenRouter and Anthropic Claude): to interpret your messages and generate responses. Your chat messages are processed by these AI services.
- Travel data providers: flight search (Kiwi.com), activities and tours (Viator), places and restaurants (Apify / Google Maps), weather (WeatherAPI), visa requirements (RapidAPI), currency rates (Frankfurter), eSIM plans (Saily), and travel web search (Tavily).
- Maps: Google Maps and Geocoding APIs, to display maps and locate places.
- Voice/sound: ElevenLabs, to generate response sound effects.
- Infrastructure: Supabase (database, authentication, storage) and our AI orchestration backend.
- Authentication: Google and Apple, for secure sign-in.
Each provider handles your data under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your personal data.
5. Analytics and Tracking Technologies
We use analytics tools to understand how people use Atlas so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, which collect usage and device data as described by Google.
- PostHog (hosted in the EU), for product analytics on how features are used.
These tools set cookies and use similar technologies. They are used to measure and improve the Service — we do not use them to sell your data or serve third-party advertising. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential analytics cookies, and you can withdraw it at any time through our cookie controls.
6. Affiliate Links
Some links Atlas provides — including certain flight booking links and eSIM plans — are affiliate or partner links. If you make a purchase through them, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. When you follow such a link, the destination provider may collect information under its own privacy policy.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud platform. We apply industry-standard safeguards including encryption at rest and in transit, row-level security policies, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
8. International Data Transfers
Atlas operates globally, and the providers above are located in various countries. Your information may be processed and stored outside your country of residence, including in jurisdictions whose data-protection laws differ from your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your account and associated data;
- export your chat history;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
- lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
EEA/UK (GDPR): our legal bases for processing are your consent, performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service. California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To exercise any right, email tripportalbd@gmail.com.
10. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data and chat history within 30 days, except where we must retain some information to meet legal obligations. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be kept for service improvement.
11. Children's Privacy
Atlas is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Mobile App Permissions and Notifications
Our mobile apps may request device permissions — such as approximate or precise location, notifications, and network access — to provide features like nearby suggestions and trip reminders. You control these in your device settings and can revoke them at any time. If you enable push notifications, you can turn them off in your device settings. We handle any data collected through the apps in line with this policy and with Apple App Store and Google Play requirements.
13. Cookies and Local Storage
Atlas uses essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences (such as your cookie-consent choice). We also use analytics cookies as described in Section 5. We do not use cookies to serve third-party advertising.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and notify you through the Service. Continued use of Atlas after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
